Awarding of the Deutscher Zukunftspreis on November 25 in Berlin

It will be exciting: Watch the livestream on November 25 starting at 6:00 p.m. when German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier opens the envelope and awards the Deutscher Zukunftspreis 2020, the Federal President's Award for Technology and Innovation to the winning team. The jury will have met that afternoon and made the final decision as to who will take home the coveted trophy and the endowment of € 250,000 in prize money.

Three teams and their innovations are nominated for the Deutscher Zukunftspreis 2020 which are exemplary of the power of innovation in Germany. As for the past 23 years, these three projects stand for more than scientific excellence. They above all represent a clear and recognizable benefit for society, for the environment and for the economy.

The nominated projects include the technical foundation for new developments that will shape the future of IT, an optical visualization system with automatic support that continues to improve the outcomes of medical procedures, sustainably produced materials which help make new and existing buildings sustainable and thus climate neutral.
