On September 11 the teams shortlisted for the Deutscher Zukunftspreis 2019 will officially be announced and presented as part of a press conference at the Deutsches Museum in Munich.
In a multi-stage process, the jury has once again selected three outstanding research and development projects to be included on the shortlist for the German Federal President's Award for Innovation in Science and Technology. The decision which team will take the prize will be made in November.
This year two of the teams are from Bavaria and one from North Rhine-Westphalia. Their projects range from a method of using CO2 as the starting material for items we use every day, to efficient and transparent processes in various forms of organizations, and a technology that is capable of detecting serious as well as degenerative diseases and providing treatment at an early stage. Among the criteria for winning the Deutscher Zukunftspreis, in addition to innovative research, are also the product's marketability and its ability to create jobs in Germany. The award is endowed with € 250,000 in prize money.
President Frank-Walter Steinmeier will present the Deutscher Zukunftspreis 2019 in Berlin on 27 November 2019.
