Appointment Notices 2020

… something impressively proven by the teams vying for last year's Deutscher Zukunftspreis award - outstanding innovations related to climate change, the digital workplace, and advances medical advances.

And now the 2020 tender phase is already drawing to a close. The institutions entitled to propose candidates for the award must submit their chosen projects to the jury no later than January 31, 2020. The first step in the award's multi-stage selection process is the review of the developments by these institutions. Every researcher and developer team, however, is free to contact one of the institutions entitled to propose candidates to draw attention to the innovations.

The job of the members of the jury thereafter is then to further review the innovations, contact the teams for more information, and to come up with a short list in a first and ensuing evaluation of all projects.

On September 9, 2020, the announcement will be made of which teams and their work have gone through the jury's various review stages successfully and made it to the short-list and final round of the Deutscher Zukunftspreis 2020.
The teams are then presented to the general public, and it will be exciting to see which subjects will turn out to be this year's important innovations. According to the statutes, nominated projects must also have economic potential and create jobs.

And then on November 25, 2020, Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier awards the Deutscher Zukunftspreis 2020 to one of the nominated teams.
