Three outstanding research and development projects are nominated for the German President's Award for Innovation in Science and Technology 2018. On 12 September 2018, the three teams will be presented during a press conference at the Deutsches Museum in Munich.
This year's teams are from Bavaria, Baden-Württenberg and North Rhine-Westphalia. They were shortlisted by the jury in a multi-stage process for the final round of the Deutscher Zukunftspreis based on their projects in the areas of resource conservation, design and manufacturing as well as drug research. Among the criteria for the Deutscher Zukunftspreis, in addition to highly innovative research performance, are also the marketability of the product and job creation.
German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier will confer the Deutscher Zukunftspreis 2018 to the award-winning team on 28 November in Berlin.
