Federal President Christian Wulff is to continue the tradition of the Deutscher Zukunftspreis. To promote technology and innovations in Germany, President Wulff will continue to award the Deutscher Zukunftspreis. The prize has been conferred annually since 1997 to researchers and developers whose inventions culminate in practicable and thus marketable products. The prize is endowed with Euro 250,000.
Federal President Wulff will present the Deutscher Zukunftspreis at a ceremony to be held on the evening of December 1, 2010 at the Tempodrom in Berlin. German broadcaster ZDF will televise the event to be anchored by Maybrit Illner.
For the final selection on December 1, the jury will select three teams which State Secretary Dr. Lothar Hagebölling as head of the Office of the Federal President, will present on September 21, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Schloss Bellevue.
All nominees will once again present their innovations at an event to be held at the Deutsches Museum in Munich. The host for the event on October 27, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. will be Prof. Dr. Wolfgang M. Heckel, Director General of the Deutsches Museum. The Deutsches Museum will continue to showcase the Deutscher Zukunftspreis and its prizewinners in a permanent exhibition and to present Germany’s creativity to the general public.
